Do you have modal logins enabled? If so, try to disable them and use standard login page to see if this resolves the issue.

I offered to test on IE9 but never got a reply back (in a PM) regarding where to test and register...

It most likely is a browser issue -- as this bug appeared in an earlier beta of YAF and was patched by tha_watcha -- although I have had users complain of still not being able to login via IE9 but not recently.

We can't upgrade our forum (http://www.carnivalwarehouse.com/forum) because of a server limitation (Plesk 9.3 doesn't support .NET 4) and there are too many domains hosted (over 150) to push the migration (to Plesk 9.5 or 10+) for only three sites that need .NET 4 -- but again, we haven't had any reports on the login issue in a while now...

On IE9 and FF10, it behaved almost like your application pool was resetting and logging users back out.

Do you have a set of machineKeys/decryptionKey in your web.config? It really behaved like the appication pool was resetting. I was able to get logged in and it would stick for several pages then I'd have to re-login again. The I would login again and it would keep me logged in longer.

IMO, you need to look into and make sure you're not suffering from application pool recycles, or your form timeout settings are too short (this setting is in web.config) - the application pool recycles would be listed in the Event Logs for the Server (not YAF). If the pool is recycling alot, you will want to find out why. Adding in machineKey and decryptionKey to the web.config (search the forums here for details on that) - might help the 'logout issue' but I think there is a combination of things happening here...

I just tried to login using Opera Version 11.60 Build 1185 and it worked.

Then I upgraded to latest Opera release (Version 11.61 Build 1250) and it is showing no issues on this end.

I would check on your end to be sure there is not a cookie issue on your browser, as YAF maintains user logins based in the cookies stored locally.

At this point, I cannot reproduce further the login issue, as it now seems to be working across the board.
