I am yet another person that can't integrate YAF with an existing ASP.Net site using membership. After copying my site's machineKey, authentication, membership, profile, and role manager to the YAF web.config, I ran the install which seemed to work fine. I can log in with the user I created during the install process, but when I click on the "Admin" link I get an "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error. I can click on "Host" but if I try to save the settings, I get the same error.

Note that this second technique will cause all files within a given application to be compiled in debug mode. The first technique will cause only that particular file to be compiled in debug mode.

Important: Running applications in debug mode does incur a memory/performance overhead. You should make sure that an application has debugging disabled before deploying into production scenario.
