Is is possible to add a new tab under ADMIN to test the forum settings like email server? To test the settings now, I have to go to install and then click test SMTP settings, but I don't like that.

It would be a very nice to have feature if we could add our own text to the test email messages. I'm currently hosting 2 different forums and I'm going to start one more. Sometimes I can't understand where the test email message came from. I know that i can take a look at the source email address, but it would be more convenient if I could add a simple string to the test email message body or even make it configurable to keep this string on the database once it's added.

The forum PM function is supposed to send notifications via email when a member receives a PM - you could send yourself a PM and should get a notification email if mail functions are working - just a thought 🙂 Then you would see which forum it's coming from and so forth --

Since SMTP settings are GLOBAL to YAF's configuration, so all 'boards' in the current application will use the same settings -- (as far as mail server and server login info) -
