Hey guys,

i was just wondering what type of login implementation did you guys use?

is it a membership? or some custom login?

I'm building a web site which contains a forum room. One of the requirement is to have forum login and website login need to be connected. which means it needs to share the same database and session.

Is this forum easy enough to re-use the login part of the control? so i can re-use it in the web site? or is it possible to do something similar?

The only version that uses Membership is 1.93 and its not in final. Everything else uses forms authentication with an MD5 hashed password.

I haven't had a problem doing this, others have. Depends on what your trying to achieve I suppose.

When I post FP:Mek in a topic, I'm leaving my footprint there so I can track it once I get into coding/supporting. (Yes I stole this off Ederon 🙂 )

I'm doing something very similar. If this is a new website, I suggest to use YAF' authentication, tables for all your login stuffs. You can use YAFblend to get the user' information for your other purposes.

Kenny.
