Some time soon we'll desperately need a full features list.

Here's what I've (com)piled .

Since I am not an original English speaker I'd like someone who is, to check my grammar and style (the text passed spelling check.)

I've separated the features in three groups but I was unable to sort them inside groups to make more sense than that.

I need more help on that!

Also, feel free to improve this list any way you wish.

Now you have been keeping yourself busy!!!:p 😛 😛

The list looks perfect to me.

The only thing I would change (personal preference) is numbering each item. I've found that makes discussing app upgrade lists easier.

While I'm on it, for item 12 of ADMINISTRATIVE FEATURES, SQL2005 has a new image data type (or revamped?). Since virus(s) can now travel via images, my boss has had me move all filesystem images into the database for security. Wouldn't that be a good idea here?

BTW...2 weeks in Italy...forgot the sunscreen!!!!

Very nice! Shouldn't be hard to create a simple HTML page that lists what you've got above!!! You could add it as a (hard coded) button to main menu!!

"It's a case of RTFM.. the only problem being we don't have a manual!"

When I post FP:Mek in a topic, I'm leaving my footprint there so I can track it once I get into coding/supporting. (Yes I stole this off Ederon 🙂 )

As a new user of YAF, I'd like to suggest we (I'm including myself here) begin documentation/user guides for each of these features. This is clearly an excellent forum, but it is lacking documentation on use and administration of these features. I don't propose that this get done this week, or month, but that we just pick a feature and begin the docs.

Hi,

Is there any way to embed objects or upload videos in the posts.

I tried putting tag in the post after adding this tag in the accepted list of html tags from host settings but it doesn't accepts it. Rather post it as simple text.

If there is any way then is is it controllable through host/admin settings?

Thanks

Ummmm.... i didn't try 1.9.3 yet, if these features are availabe then it is really great. But if someone is using 1.9.1.6 then the documentation would be helpfull. As i have developed these features in 1.9.1.6 , anyway i'll try 1.9.3 as well. I must appreciate all the people who are contributing in these best .net forums

CheERS!!

Hi. Can anyone tell me if the latest version of YAF has functionality to email admin / moderators when new posts / topics are created on a moderated forum?

I have done a search on this forum and see there have been some suggestions on how to code this manually but was wondering if it had been implemented formally yet?

http://forum.yetanotherforum.net/yaf_postst5309_Email-notification-of-new-post.aspx

cheers.

This is a long topic :)

Can we also get better API integration for those who want to create thin clients that use YAF for storage but show it entirely their own way?
