How can one integrate tables into messages and ensure that spacing (including line breaks) are reduced to single-space (or double-space, etc.). Our Board is using YAF and users are finding difficulty adding tables for sports standings, and often

Any assistance would be great. This forum doesn't appear to suffer the same issues with spacing... but tables don't appear to be easily integrated.

    Can you provide more Info about which yaf Version you are using, and which Editor is currently enabled?

    Do you use an WhiteSpace remover on your website?

    I'm actually an end-user of the site and have nothing to do with its day-to-day operation. We try to use tables to post Standings for sports events (Wins, Losses, Ties, Points, etc.). When the Discussion forum was first launched in September, tables wouldn't paste properly at all. Since my inquiry, we can now paste tables... however, the table gets pushed down from the top of the message when it gets posted (i.e. it looks fine in the preview/editing area) and there are unnecessary Line Breaks in spacing based on the number of rows in the table... the greater the number of rows, the greater the space between the top of the message and where the table actually gets posted in the message (sometimes it takes quite a bit a scrolling to get to the table.

    Here's an example of what we used to have... I have pasted a table from Microsoft Word... As you can see, their are no extra line breaks, but spacing is an issue in terms of how the data aligns to the headings.

    Team Wins Losses Points

    Aces 3 0 6

    Blazers 2 1 4

    Crowns 1 2 2

    Devils 0 3 0

    In Host Settings, I selected the Editors tab and select TinyMCE(HTML) as Forum Editor.

    Then in "Accepted HTML Tags", I added "table, tr, td".

    However, I still cannot include a table in my post. I am using YAF v1.9.6.1 and using the Red-Grey Theme.

    Please help.

    Hi tha_watcha,

    Thank you for your quick respond.

    Did you add the table html code in the WYSIWYG mode of the editor or in the source mode.

    How do I do that? I do not see the "Insert/Edit Table" Button (Screenshot 1). Please show me how. Thanks.

    By the way, is TABLE support in other Editors as well, such as YAF Standard YafBBCode Editor?

    Thanks,

    Thoa

    I do not see the HTML button or any of the button in your screenshot 2.

    The tiny_mce_init.js also has this part at the end:

    // turn on/off SCAYT autostartup

    scayt_auto_startup: true,

    scayt_slang: "en_US",

    // Replace values for the template plugin

    template_replace_values : {

    username : "Some User",

    staffid : "991234"

    I just downloaded the latest version and installed it last week. It works on .NET 4.0.

    This is the first time I use YAF. I do not have any old version of YAF.

    The version is 1.9.6.1. Is it the latest version? If not please give me the link to the latest version. Thank you.
