How do I delete a post or thread? · YAF.NET Support Forum

I am probably just being stupid and missing something here but I cannot figure out how to delete posts and threads on my forum. I log in as the administrator account but I do not see the options under administrator, moderate, or anywhere while viewing the thread.

Example this thread:

was a test thread but now I cannot get rid of it. Please help.

You can delete topics with the 'delete topic' button above the post topic header (to the right).

You can delete posts with the 'delete' button inside the popst header (to the right)

Those buttons are not showing on my screen however.

Here is what I see:

Any idea why those options would be turned off? System says I am admin.

Have you checked the access masks to allow delete.

If you are signed in as host admin you should see the delete topic button.

also when you created the forum the admin access may not have been set to admin but to member.

Just some things to check. HTH

In the Admin Panel there is a link button to access masks. this is where you set the delete, upload, edit

type permissions for the different groups - roles. HTH

That did it! Several of the forums were set to member access level for the admin group. Not sure why.

I had gone through masks before and made sure my group was set to moderator, but for some reason had missed the masks of the specific forums.
