Hi guys.

I'll try to explain my thoughts here.

I've got a website for a Battlefield 2 clan using DNN right now.
I've developed an AJAX based "Challenge Us" module which will allow
for other clans to challenge us for a match.

After alot of discussions, we've reached to the conclusion that the
best way to present a new match challenge is through a new topic with
a post containing all registered info about the challenge.

So, my idea is currently to create a web service (asmx) which will save
the data as a new forum topic.

Has this been done, or am I treading on unchartered land here?

And, how hard would it be to accomplish?

I will set up a user called "ChallengeBot" or something to have a "user"
that creates and posts the topics.

Any ideas or inputs here would be accepted and embraced with open arms. :)

Cool idea; I could do with it myself :-)

When I post FP:Mek in a topic, I'm leaving my footprint there so I can track it once I get into coding/supporting. (Yes I stole this off Ederon 🙂 )

Something like this? Unzip in your YAF v1.9.3 root directory. Doesn't work with v1.9.18.

Needs proper support for token verification -- but it should work okay. Kind of manual. Let me know if it helps.

Hey, thanks Jaben. 🙂 :)

I'll try to upgrade to the 1.9.3 version after running some local tests in our sandbox environment and then I'll incorporate and build on that webservice solution. :)
