I am working on my site integration of YAF. Things seem to be going much better this time. I have a working site and all the bits are functional in initial testing.

Now I would like to make some modifications to some of the navigational elements on the forum pages. There is a menu bar at the top of the forum home page with "Search | Active Topics | Log In | Register".

I would like to remove the "| Log In | Register" elements, these are take care of in the navigation bar on the master page. Then I would like to relocate the "Search | Active Topics" elements down to the Forum Name bar below. As well I would like to remove the "Welcome" element, also take care of in the site navigation bar.

This would remove all content from that menu bar, so the next step would be to remove the menu bar altogether, giving a bit more room on the page.

How might I tackle this modification?

What I did was take a screen shot of the website and cut the menue style I wanted out.

Pasted it in "paint" then added text over it. Uploaded it to photobucket.com and resized it to the size I wanted it.

Then addded it to my default.aspx page right under my header logo. I added multple ones to look as if its intergrated into the forum.


Its too complicated doing it the right way. You need lots of experience and really need to know what your doing.

Trust me this by far is the easiest way.

Nice, but you still have that "Welcome Guest" status bar with the Search | Active Topics | Members | Log In | Register. I want to get rid of that bar. My navigation bar takes care of all that; I want to do some de-duplication.

From my experience my users dont mind it. Its kinda like a second option.

It does look cluttered I guess but its fine with me and my users dont notice it.
