I've run YAF with SQL Server 2005 and 2008 using IIS 7. No problems at all!

Feel for you mate, had exactly the same issue with Hexus couple of years ago and was incredibly happy to find a good company when I switched.

Regarding your query there were a couple of issues with the CASE of some statements not being correct for 2005, other than that I developing on SQL 2008 and not spotted anything of concern.
