So I have it set currently to use an IIS SMTP relay (though would be better if that could be skipped.)
and that is connected to gmail, I was expecting it to just relay and use the e-mail of Forum@domain-logix.net as the sender address though its not currently a valid address.

but instead all the e-mails from my forum appear to be from my gmail.

Check the board settings, yaf uses the email address as from address which is defined in the Board Settings.

Ya under board settings I have Forum Email set to forum@domain-logix.net

I switched it from using google's SMTP to some free one I found and it seems to be working now.

though when a user e-mails another user it spoofs the sending user's e-mail to send the message, is there a way to make it so the from address for that would be something like forumuser@domain-logix.net?
