I am new to Dnn and Yaf. I want to buy a custom skin for dnn and I wonder if Yaf itself gets same skin automatically or a similar skin must be created from scratch?

All indications are YAF is going to be going to Responsive Design Layout, therefore all current themes/skins will be rendered useless. I do not know when this transformation will be complete, but you might wanna use one of the YAF packaged themes, modify it and then wait for the YAF release with the mobile friendly themes. You will then find a plethora of themes at your disposal because it will be utilizing Bootstrap.

In that case, would you recommend waiting until the new layout is released. Is there a likely timeline on when that may occur?

It might be a few months yet, I honestly have no idea. You can take one of the packaged themes and hack it up to get you by until it is released. That is probably what I would recommend doing, as that is basically what I have done with my new website too. I took the GreyGrey theme and added a little color to it.


Edit, actually it appears to be a v3.0 milestone which is due December of this year.

So what happens when you build one, not sure how to use it. How do I get it to show up on the site? in the admin drop down or user drop down for a select-able item?
