Editor defaults to plain text regardless of selected editor

Ref version 2.1.1

Editor defaults to plain text editor even though TinyMCE (HTML) selected with or without user selection checked. Tried other editors and still defaults to plain text editor.

Suggestions?

Attached is pdf file (rar) showing TinyMCE and CKEditor, html and bbcode.
Forum Editor setting: user selection not checked.
Also, previously I mention (different thread) that I had resolved the html coding in posts but that did not remain for some reason.

Hi!

I have used TinyMCE for the last couple of years in version 1.9.6. Worked fine except the spellcheck gave up the ghost. I thought going from version 1.9.6 to version 2.1.1 would be an improvement, of course, but never expect to have problems with TinyMCE (HTML).

Uh-oh. I now have users complaining about the "Standard YafBBCode Editor" which I giggled enough to work in the interim but does not have the features to post images, videos, etc. as TinyMCE(HTML) that they demand. Their kind of posting dominates the forum (cardiovascular, biomedical science, integrative medicine researcher and practitioners who post tables, charts, research articles, etc.).

I just need to know...

1. Do the HTML editors actually work in 2.1.1? I did not upgrade to 2.1.0 so do not know if they worked there either.

1a. If so, how best to resolve this? Repeat the upgrade? At this point (18 hours+ playing with this), I'd pay someone to fix this. :-)

1b. If not, unfortunately, then I need to pull the plug on 2.1.1 and get back to 1.9.6 where TinyMCE (HTML) worked. I sure hope so. How is the best way to do that?

I need something to tell the gathering mob with pitchforks about to storm the castle. :-)

The TinyMCE(HTML) seems too work for me for editing and posting.

However, the Preview looks like garbage - ie text only.

Greetings!

Version 2.1.1 seems to be working just fine. There are some minor things that I need to look into but overall it is running except for the editor thingie. lol

TWO Qs:

1. Can TinyMCE and CKEditor versions from their websites be dropped into YAF 'editors' directory and be made to work?
Has anyone ever tried that? How?

I am not programmer, IT, etc., just semi-technical enough to get YAF up and running for a couple of years so may be able to muddle through this also.

2. How can menu be expanded to include to include View, Format, Table, etc.?

Thanks for the screenshot that looks like a bug for the message preview, is the message when you posted correctly encoded?

]Yes, I uploaded the 'editors' directory and that resolved some issues. I was only able to get CKEditor (html) to work; TinyMCE (html) show compose box WITHOUT editor menu; output is plain text.

Ref Message Preview. Preview shows messages with html tags but does publish (post) correctly.

If it doesn't show the tinymce editor, then check the browser console if it shows any JavaScript errors related to the editor.

Hi!

CKEditor (html) works okay.

TinyMCE (html) does not load the menu, only empty/blank compose space. See attached image.
I have used previous 1.9.6 tinymce editor files also; all produce the same empty/blank compose box.
You can type in the compose area, it will preview (no html tags, etc.) and publish (post) the text okay.

Two javascript errors were reported (below).
