The Twitter login on my YAF works perfectly -- no issues with that.

Now, I'm trying to implement the Facebook Login on the forum in my website. I'm pretty sure I did everything on FB correctly. Actually I know I did, 'cause I've compared it to others who have done it properly.

The button is there! When clicking the "Log in with Facebook" button ... it brings up the pop-up box where you enter your FB info, but when you click "Allow", it doesn't redirect me and register the user. I get a box tiny box that pops up and closes quickly, and then a tiny popup box that simply says "Error Occurred" and nothing else. The error has to be in my app.config (copied below); I can't think of anything else, but I've downloaded fresh app.configs, and it still doesn't work.

In FB, Under Settings:
Namespace whatever ... don't think this is important
App Domains: I have my domain in there ... it's not empty

After I save the app, it does say "Your App Details Page for USS Vision Knowledgebase has been submitted and is pending review. When I click on the details, it says it's live. When I preview it, it looks correct.

I've cleared all my browsers' caches ... and have tried in Chrome, IE8, 9, FF, and Safari, and it always does the same -- Twitter works, FB in IE 8 doesn't show the button (just the text, not the button).

If it helps, I attached images of the error and my FB settings. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT -- ADDED APP.CONFIG:

12-10 Edit: I've read about this YAF.Data.MsSql.dll that's supposed to be in the /bin/ folder ... but I've been to the YAF Codeplex website  and can't find it there. I'm still using 1.9.6.1. Maybe this is the problem; not sure ... will keep trying.

I did get your email. I am not ignoring. I started a new job a week ago and quite busy. I will do my best to provide input when I have time. Hope you get it working.

I don't think that SecretKey is accurate. Mine is alphanumeric and 32 characters in length.

Hey, thanks for replying Zero. I should have mentioned that those secret keys and keys were just mumble-jumble I put in there. I didn't put the real ones that are on my FB app and Twit apps.

Bah! I should have known better. That's what I get for typing without thinking.

I tried to login via Facebook and indeed received the error attached in the original post.

I'm sure I'll figure it out with time. I wouldn't doubt it if it had something to do with one of my inane IIS7 rewrites. But Twitter does work fine ... I'll keep trial-and-erroring, so to speak!

The facebook settings seems to be correct. The important part is the App Domain which is set correctly. However i know there are few issues in the current build, which are fixed in the next release and in the source Repository on CodePlex.

Also the javascript is hard coded so there is no way to reveal the full error Message to see the problem. At this point the only solution is to disable it and wait for the next version.

Okay .... thanks for the advice watcha! I'll probably just keep Twitter login for now, and that's fine. Appreciate it!

Maybe one day in the future I will become 1/1000th as smart as tha_watcha, and I'll be able to give better advice to people. I want to promote YAF as much as I can through our client base, which is mostly automotive (Ford, GM, Chrysler, Mercedes-Bens, Toyota, etc., etc.), but really, their smaller suppliers -- people who could benefit from YAF, and really anybody that manufactures anytyhing

All of you make YAF work and I will make sure the automotive client base knows about YAF and considers using it. THIS, for instance I can handle. I can get the message out to automotive clients. Jaben, Watcha, Squirrel, etc, and those who have helped me, I will definitely do what I can to promote this forum -- the best open-source forum on the web.

Thanks to all developers and all who try to help others in here. I'll try to do my part!
