Is there any way to get the user IP address he was working from except querying the database? I cannot find it in the user admin. Sorry for this stupid question.

Admins and Moderators should be able to see the IP of every post on the forums. If you are not seeing this - you should check your Host settings - there might be a switch but I cannot remember off the top of my head. We run 1.9.5.5 RC live and we have the IPs showing for admins and moderators on every post.
