a really cool new feature would be to have notification-popups like on facebook or instant messengers which appear for a few seconds at the corner of the browser window.

the notification popup would appear on the page and notify when buddys have logged on, new posts have been created, thanks have been given to me, i got new private messages, new users have registered, etc - maybe configurable in the profile (which notifications to subscribe).
