Can you show the diff of the fix? I need to apply that fix on mine so I can make some role changes.

Look r.4755. Jaben has rewritten the control, which possibly was the troublemaker . Look for YAF.Controls.dll in the latest rebuild assemblies in the svn. I can't help as I can't reproduce it. I don't know why and I currently don't have time to investigate the problem. in various test cases. I'll look nto it this weekend, maybe it can be fixed in sql scripts.

I'm having trouble loading the YAF project in VS 2010 C# Express. I get this error in VS: "YetAnotherForum.NET\YAF.csproj cannot be opened. The project type is not supported by this installation."

Any ideas? Thanks.

Glad you like it doxa123! Although, a couple bug fixes says that there are a few issues... but that's what keeps us going.

Could you please write couple words how did you upgrade, step by step? What are the steps to be done to avoid any kind of risk? Something like these below?

1. Backup of the original project and the database.
2. Installing a new project to the new directory.
3. Correcting new project config files to work with the old database.
4. Start built-in upgrade routine inside the forum. Btw, how?
5. After the new project upgraded the database and started working with the updated database stop the forum and correct the Default.aspx file if required.
6.Enjoy new life!

Is there any special to be done to get the current project upgraded?

Hi,

I upgraded from YAF 1.9.5.4 to YAF 1.9.5.5 but after the upgrade al the links in YAF result in a 404 File or directory not found.

http://www.vlaamseschermbond.be/forum  (Official Flemish Fencing Federation)

Due to a mistake with my backup, I cannot revert to a backup.
Can someone tell me how I can solve these 404 File or directory errors?

Thanks for your assistance,

I absolutely agree. The latest version is more than fantastic! It still has a few problems, but not very significant for sure. It's really great that I joined this community a while ago. I'm really happy with this software. Hopefully one day my forums will start working as expected so I can start donating to the author of this incredible tool!

Appreciate the kudos! The team working on YAF.NET now is really excellent and have really stepped up making the software better and better.

Technically it works fine.
Unsolved are:
- the problem with profile provider which is used by YAF, you can use MP profile only and it;s not mirrored by YAF.
- UrlRewriting problem
- roles generally work thanks to Mek but it's a bit of a puzzle.

I use it with my portal for 3 months but I use it with postgre as database and don't have time to test code for T-SQL. I published some instructions on Mojo site to integrate. If you guys are not participating in it, we will never see the module.

Shall I tell him you said that? You see, I'm not a developer at all. I'm just a user of ASP.net applications, and I want to become a developer someday on the open source level. So I myself cannot contribute technically at this time.
