I've been asked to look into the possibility of totally public anonymous forums for newer users who might otherwise be discouraged from asking "silly questions". Putting aside the security issues surrounding a forum where Guest is allowed to post, is it possible to configure YAF in this way or perhaps set up an approval system for posts in the forum?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Yes you can config the whole forum to be accessible for Guest. You can asseign access mask for each forum and forum group. For example if you set the access mask to member access on Guest Roles, Guest are allowed to Post (Or whatever you want them to be allowed to do).

Hi, I've made for myself such forum, but if you need you can use it, it doesn't track your location or actions, don't have any session and other stuff like that. There is no logins, usernames, etc. But you should remeber thread or message id and key (if any), and then you may share it to your friends or just use like storage, etc. Note, that there is no non-encrypted data on server and even if FBI or KGB take it they will just suck under crypted data. So in the worst case we just lost our data.

P.S.: for more read #FAQ and #HELP threads there. You may leave comments in #FEEDBACK thread (links to them are on the main page).
