Hello,

I was wondering which is the best way to build an entirely new site inherently dependent on YAF; the site would use for an instance in one page the 'last messages' box, in another the login box etc. In other words, I would like not only to be able to use the 'forum' ascx but directly all the other user controls.
At the moment the most simple (but I guess deprecated...) solution I figured is to put the site pages in the YAF project folder. It is inelegant but it should save (as far as I can understand) the url-rewriting functionality and a lot of path or membership problems.
My question is: is there another approach to do what I need ? In effect I should not integrate the forum in an existing site, but integrate a new site into the existing YAF.

I thank you in advance for any help

If you like DotNetNuke, then YAF comes as a DNN module.

I think this is the easiest way for a new website.

I have no idea what your needs are, just FYI.

Well, the web site per se should be independent from platforms like DNN; the basic community functionalities would be provided by YAF. In fact I would like to distribute practically in every page the YAF boxes, for an instance that of the last posts (perhaps sorted by certain criteria, 'categories' etc.). The integration would be pushed beyond a simple inclusion of the 'forum' user control into a master page.
I am trying to understand if it is possible (in an easy way) to make use directly of the many ascx that are included in the YAF project. And besides I would like to know if adding new pages to the main forum folder is the best approach to do such a thing.
