Hi all, I was hoping to load this application, however, I am having nothing but trouble and I followed all instructions from the blog..."http://wiki.yetanotherforum.net/Installation%20Instructions.ashx"

Here are the error messages from Web.Config:

It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS. (c:\Users\kevin\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Projects\ForumJandous\ForumJandous\forum\web.config line 82)

I tried to add the tag since forum is in a forum folder, however, I received error message also:

Please help me..any additional step by step instructions to modify and merge web.config file would be great. this is very frustrating and I'm looking forward to installing this product.

In IIS Manager, the folder that YAF is running in needs to be configured as an ASP.NET Application. Without that, you will get those errors --

It appears here, that your forum is resolving the wrong path -- I see double entries in your path for ForumJandous (ForumJandous\ForumJandous) -- I had this problem as well -- are you running IIS7/7.5? If so, when you create your 'application mapping' you may need to remove the current application, and instead of right-clicking on the forum folder, right click on the folder one level up (most likely your 'root' folder) - then add the application there, and for the alias, enter ForumJandous there - when the tree refreshes after you save, you will see the 'icon' for your forum folder will have changed and it should be resolving properly -- I will attach screen shots later today - headed to work currently

Sample problem but the above fix does not seem to help? Any other ideas?

Thanks,
