Hello.

I was able to install YAF under DNN not with the standard set of files but with the file provided by tha_watcha.

I have a problem and i see that in ALL YAF under DNN installations i could find on the net.

The Page Titles are a mess. DNN page titles with YAF titles, together, making excess long and stupid Titles.

I haven't found a way to solve this. From DNN or YAF.

ANY ideas ?

thanks

It seems Google is honoring YAF a lot ...

It seems that YAF puts twice the Board Name in the title bar.

A second problem.

I have seen many times the following error when clicking to a forum post.

Server Error in '/' Application.
The resource cannot be found.
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Requested URL:

/tabid/g/topics/f/1/Test-Forum.aspx

or

/tabid//g/topics/f/1/Test-Forum.aspx

or

/tabid//g/posts/m/1/test-post-to-pictures.aspx#post1

But that link doesn't seem to exist. I can't understand why.

The correct is (example):

/tabid/40/g/topics/f/1/Test-Forum.aspx

Any ideas ?

thanks

ps: i use the latest DNN, Windows 2008r2 and MS SQL 2008 and touched nothing

The title was duplicated, this is fixed in next release.

I know that Problem but i cant reproduce it. But i think i know now why. You can turn off the Friendly url rewriting feature in yaf until this is fixed.

Since i moved YAF to a second page and NOT the Home, i never saw that again.

I have installed some skins to DNN and it seems the page with YAF is brakes the width. With 2 of them.

I'm not a programmer, i have no idea if this is a DNN, the skin or YAF to blaime.

Example with this skin ( a good one )

http://skinsbyadammer.com/Greytness.aspx

If anybody has the time, he can check it out.

thanks

i think the biggest problem of the skin is the fixed width of it. You need to make it bigger.

it is definitely the skin. Using an other skin, even more narrow, YAF works well.

Ot must be the way the skin is designed.

Just got a reply from the guys who makes it. Took me a minute to fix it.

We do our very best to make our skins compatible with the myriad of modules available. However, you’re seeing some basic problems that we try hard to avoid but ultimately can’t control.

This module uses a class “content” which is the same name as the class that the skin is using to set width. Therefore, the layout issue results. The last CSS file to be process is the module.css and the skin doesn’t have control over that file.

Looking at my notes, i forgot 🤬 to write that small problem with the YAF under DNN build, from Watchers.net

After YAF installation finishes (not the DNN part, the YAF part), it goes to

www.yourdomain.com/desktopmodules/

and displays a Page Not Found error. I have no idea why. But after that going manually to the Home page, everything works very well.

thanks !

(actually there are no pages in the Desktopmodules folder.)
