Hello.

I see that a registered member can edit and delete his posts/threads. Or this can be turned completely off but it is not a very good idea.

What happens if a member with 1000 posts decides to leave and deletes all his posts ?

Could a "time limit" exist for editing a post ? And to delete a post ? I mean for example, you can edit a post for 1-2 days after the initial post. Same for deleting.

What is your opinion about that ?

Thanks

I feel ashamed ....

But doesn't that mean that also new posts are prohibited ?

After tested the suggestion, it appears that Locking the forum after some time, doesn't allow any new posts.

So the above suggestion is not correct or i miss something.

thanks

I think this is very important. I hace been a moderator to a major Greek forum. The hardest thing to handle was malicious users that posted normal topics with normal Titles.

After a while they edited the title and body with ads. This was hard to find and fix.

Also we had a user that went crazy, deleted 1000+ of his posts and left.

So we used some options of the php forum we used, that had timed editing if topics/titles and delete.

thanks
