I'm still wondering why my error page says I'm running .net 2, I thought 1.9.4 RC1 was .net3.5

I moved everything to root in case it was a subforum issue; whjat puzzles me is that everything else works except the thanks button and tag as favorite.

I also notice that when I get an error, the bottom of the error page says it's .net 2.....I though 1.9.4 was .NET 3.5?

Isn't 3.5 just an extension of 2 anyway and this is why it shows errors as 2?

That's why in IIS you can select only 1.1/2/4 and not select 3.5

An un-install and clean reinstall still yields no tag as favorite and thank button behavior with me. (1.9.4 RC1 and GoDaddy hosting IIS7).

I wish I knew if this were a Godaddy situation or unique to me.

Perhaps by the time 1.9.4 goes final it will work for me. The rest of the forum works perfectly; we'll just have to get along without the thanks and favorites features.

Just my luck to be the 'lucky one' oh well; it's a great forum even without those new features. Many thanks to those that gave me ideas to try, even though nothing worked.

Update: I added ASP schema and DSN to Godaddy database account, recycled IIS app pool, switched to integrated pipeline and everything works now.

I also changed (found in Godaddy help file for connecting via 3.5)connection string from:

I'm not sure what did it, but I'm in the water now!

edit: I also moved the resources/js and app_code/YAF/utilities files to root and changed

app.config's BaseUrl



yeah, a shotgun 'try everything' approach, but it's working

"Thank" and "Tag as favorite" mods use AjaxPro. I guess the problem is related to AjaxPro behavior in some cases. However I was unable reproduce the problem and have no idea what was going wrong.
About the .Net 2.0 Error I guess it's because of AjaxPro compiled in .Net 2 and we used the dll without recompiling it in .Net 3.5
