I seem to have a problem with the digest email - the email seems to contain the complete source of the forum home page. Any pointers on how to fix this please?

Looks like there is a problem with loading the digest html. You can test the digest and show errrors via Admin > Users and Roles > Digest > View Current Digest > Generate Digest

Unknown server tag 'asp:HtmlIframe'.

 <asp:HtmlIframe id="DigestFrame" runat="server" style="width: 100%; height: 500px"></asp:HtmlIframe>

OK, I've got past this part by changing it to a regular iframe - now it looks like it's loading in the wrong url into the iframe -

/forum/forum/digest?token=

should my Forum Base URL Mask in the board settings include the /forum folder at the end?

No. Only the base url
