I've noticed that this forum (http://forum.yetanotherforum.net/) search feature is awfully slow. So I'm just wondering, is this due to an underpowered or busy SQL server that you guys are using, or is YAF's search implementation to blame?

Since I've only just started with YAF I have nothing to compare this forum's search performance with, so I'm hoping someone that's currently operating a busy YAF forum can let me know what your forum's search performance is like?

Slow? Interesting. Search for Posts with help (which is very popular). Came back very quickly for me quick than i could one potato, two potato, three potato.

When I post FP:Mek in a topic, I'm leaving my footprint there so I can track it once I get into coding/supporting. (Yes I stole this off Ederon 🙂 )

Strange, if I search for Posts with 'help' as per your example, it is lightning fast, as in two potato. But if I search for these two words: search slow I got all the way up to 22 potato  I can understand searching for two words should increase the time, but not by that much. How many potatoes do you get for search slow ? 🙂

I also find the search very slow at times. I'm not sure whether it is directly related to the number of words in the search term, or the results returned.
