I have installed YAF on my GoDaddy site and I'm trying to set up my forums so that they can only be privately viewed. (I don't have SSL.) I have tried setting the forums up to private; I can still view them from the Guest account. I have tried deleting the Guest account; I get an error page. I have tried deleting roles; same error page.

What gives? Why can't I set up my forums to be private? What do I need to do to make them that way?

DO NOT delete the guest account!!! I is REQUIRED for normal operation!

You have to set the access mask of the forum to "No Access" for any group you do not want to have access.

By deleteing the guest account, you may have to install a new DB to get it working again.

Fine...

I have set up the forum to require email verification. I have had a few people try to register and I am not receiving any emails for verification, nor am I able to set up user accounts in the forum.

What gives???
