Hi there,
for some reason the notifictaion emails have stopped.
V1.9.6.1 (Date: 3/18/2012).
I have tried using the email test in the upgrade panel it apears to send, but no email arrives.
I have tried testing the forum email address from Outlook and it sends & receives ok from the address.
It just seems to be YAF doesn't manage to send the mail, or it gets lost somehow.
I have tried restating the web site in IIS - but problem remains.
Please could you help me .. I am stuck.
Funny thing is - it did work - until recently.
Regards
Richard

What does the error message say when you send a test mail trough yaf via the install wizard (Go to forum/install/default.aspx)

Watcha, (you know when I say that I am saying hello - it's a london/sussex expression meaning hi there)
no there is no error using the install wizard.
However I played around with my mail.config settings and changed from:

to

Changing the username from full email address to just the user name made the difference and now its works.
I can't explain why exactly this would allow the sending of email to extrnal addresses, but still maybe someone else can explain it.
FYI I am using Mail Enable for SMPT.
Best regards
Richard
