Hi, I am a newbie to the YAF. I just installed this forum module on the official website of the Flemish Fencing Federation (www.vlaamseschermbond.be) and it is running fine. The thing I don't grasp for the moment is how YAF integrates with the DotNetNuke User functionality. We have about 255 registerd users on our website and those users should be able to post messages on the forum. Is this possible? I'm asking this question, because I see in the host adminstration, there is a 'users and roles' section, and I don't understand how this relates to the user administration functionality of DotNetNuke. Thanks for your help and advice, Anthony Candaele www.webmove.be Belgium |
We have about 255 registerd users on our website and those users should be able to post messages on the forum. Is this possible?
Yes, a User gets gets imported/registered when logged in to dnn and visits the first time on the yaf page. Or you can Import all Users at once, there is a "DNN User Importer" Menu Item in the Module Menu and on the bottom of the Module. If you open The Page you will see the Button "Import Now" to Import all existing DNN users to yaf. The Roles will be also Imported The Roles are shown as "Linked" in Admin->Roles. DNN Admins are automatically assigned as Admins in Yaf, and also Hosts. |

Hi Ingo, I tried to use the 'user importer' at the bottom of the page, but I get this message: "0 User(s) Imported, Roles already syncronized!" greetings, Anthony |

Can you look in the Member List of yaf if it matches the dnn member list. I looks like the counter is not updated. Edit: I was right the code didnt update the Counter Corretly, fixed in SVN #4193 |

When I look under Members, all the registered users are there with the rank of 'newbie'. So I guess it is ok? Meanwhile I also created the forums, so let the discussions commence :) Thanks for your help, Anthony Candaele www.webmove.be Belgium |
