I just upgraded to 1.9.4 (maybe I should have upgraded to 1.9.3). Now when I try to log in to my forum I always get this:

"The user name or password entered is incorrect. Please try again."

Is there any way to fix this?

I thought it may have something to do with decrypting the passwords. Does this sound right? I used the suggested 191-upgrade-web.config. Wouldn't that have the appropriate properties for encryption?

I need someone to help steer me in the write direction.

Thanks,

Yes, the upgrade web.config should work properly. Are you sure it's passwords? This support forum uses the same passwords it always has...

The settings should be correct... did the migrate users run properly?

I think I may have messed things up. I was using the wrong config settings to start (SHA1). Using that config setting, I went through the lost password page. I think my password was reset. I didn't have SMTP setting setup so I didn't get the email. I think my security question also changed. I changed the config file to use MD5, which is what I should have used to begin with.

How do I re-migrate the data? I notice that key information is still intact in yaf_users. Going through the install process again didn't do anything. Thanks.

I think my reply may be a little incoherent. :)

I ran through the intall process with a hash type of SHA1. It probably should have been MD5. Do you think this would have caused my problems? If I can't re-migrate the user data, is there a way I can at least reset my password?

What would you do in this case?

I think I figured it out. I just had to get things straightened out. The config file messed me up.

Thanks.
