I would like to be able to generate reports from the forum for review. I would like to know if this functionality exists or if it can be written.

The kinds of reports I would like are:

1.Total number of collective inquiries completed in a given time period.

2. Total number of inquiries completed by any given moderator in a given time period.

3. The features above in graph format.

4. Ability to run reports by certain keywords.

Can anyone help in this area?

What do you mean by "collective inquiries"?

Means total number of inquiries completed by all moderators in a given time period.

I think moreover he's asking what you mean by "inquiries" in terms of this forum software.

Oh ok. What I mean is this. I need to be able to "manage" the moderators. Essentially they are customer service representatives, and I want to use the Forum as a FAQ/help center medium.

We need quite a bit of functionality for communicating with the customer, as well as amongs moderators. The moderators (or CSR's) need to be regulated as their performance is rated according to how they are doing with answering FAQ's.

So creating reporting functionality is very important.

The forum has all the functionality from an end user perspective that we require.

Note: I should also add as an aside that we are using YAF in Sitecore CMS.

Ok, so an "inquiry" would be a customer starting a thread asking a question. Reporting the number of threads created in a forum in a given date range is possible. But that would be any subject. If you need further restrictions (filtering), then you would need something to filter by - like something in the subject that can be queried against.

What marks a thread complete? Will the moderator lock the thread after he/she answers the question? Need something to signify that the "inquiry" has been resolved.

Do you see where I'm going with this?

I'm curious about the same, with regards to the type of reporting options. When you say "reporting the number of threads is possible", does that mean that type of report doesn't exist? I was looking down the features list on the site, and didn't notice a "reporting" section. I saw there was a "stats" dashboard, but nothing like a new threads, new follow-ups, replies by moderator, etc. Certainly not a bash against yaf, it appears to be a great app, just wondering how detailed the reports go, or if most yaf users wind up writing their own reports.

As far as I know, there isn't a reporting module.

As it's an open-source project, however, you never know.. maybe someone has written such a module and just haven't shared it with the rest of the community.

Perhaps one of you would be the first to contribute such a module?

I was knew the offer to share what gets developed for a reporting module. I certainly would/will if that ever materializes and isn't my typical spaghetti code

Thanks for your reply.
