Hi YAF...

I have just installed your (YAF 1.9.3) on a newly installed xp o/s so using iis5.

The forum is working, i have managed to create a user as well, however

when ever i login as administrator or my new user it just takes me back to the forum page, it does not change guest to login name..

Please could you advise

After the redirect, can you click on the forum itself (ignore the login box) and then be shown as logged in?

I've had instances where the login would redirect back to itself because the redirectURL somehow got set to the login page - so the login process sent me back there after I logged in.

Yes after i login and then click the forum it shows me the forum. However it does not look like i have successfully logged in, i still have the log in & register links in the top right, and it still says welcome guest in the banner area. I do not get any new post button so i am clearly not logged in...

Will have to let one of the expert-types answer you then.. unfortunately I don't have an idea for that case. Could be something in IIS5 that's mucking up the membership provider but that's a NSWAG with no basis in known fact.

Not seen this unless debug tracing is running (set in the web.config) because it interferes with the ajax. Don't suppose thats it?

Nope, that didn't work but i think it has something to do with my web config.

as i am merging the forum one into ours, i may have missed something arround the authentication as i copied

I then got an error saying the authentication was already defined as windwos, which was removed and now it all works great 🙂 Thanks YAF

on another note is there any plans to incorperate akismet into the forums ?
