Hi - I'm new to Yet Another Forum.NET, having 'inherited' the project from a colleague.

We have a website which has its own login/password, and we have developed code so that registration on the main website also creates the account for the forum.

What I've been asked to do is to ensure that anyone who access the forum directly can't register for the forum alone. I'd like to change the register link to take the user to the main site registration page, rather than the YAF.NET registration page.

I've looked at the source-code, and see references to a control, but I don't see where it lives and how I can modify the URL end-point to point into our main site's registration page.

Thanks,

John

PS. Should have said: we're using v1.9.1.8

Depends on your version; but if your lucky to be using anything 1.9x its easier than you would imagine; login as the host administrator account. Goto the admin section, click on host settings. Scroll all the way down to "Disable New Registrations" (its just above the SMPTP settings) and voila. You should be fine.

When I post FP:Mek in a topic, I'm leaving my footprint there so I can track it once I get into coding/supporting. (Yes I stole this off Ederon 🙂 )
