Hi,

I am looking to start my first forum and I would love to use YAF as I understand SQL/C# but I am trying to be realistic in know that a forum could take a fair amount of time to maintain and I am wondering if the popularity and the ability of hiring someone cheaply/quickly to amend/install something on VBulletin gives it a big advantage.

I was wondering are there any large forums that you know of that use's YAF? I know its wishful thinking to thing about owning a large forum but I ideally don't want to have to go through the process of moving from YAF to VBulletin down the line.

Any thoughts on this issue?

Thanks,

Al

No need to convince anyone to use a forum engine, but just a recent surprise from vBulletin

This is a HUGE forum.

Due to a recent issue with vbulletin which they very nicely didn't send a warning out about, some images were inserted at the bottom of threads. I've dropped everything back to how it was a few weeks ago and taken care of the issue, so it shouldn't happen again.

I should notice that wonders never stop there.

YAF was designed to be integrated into portals and sites. YAF forum is an embeddable (ascx) user-control and supports ASP.NET Membership making integration into DNN, MojoPortal, Umbraco, SharePoint and custom solutions possible.
