Hello,

I recently set up a YAF for my site and it is working well. The problem I am running into is that anyone who browses the site (Guest acct) can view other users' profiles as shown on the front page. For example, the front page shows the last user to post, and that user's name is a clickable link that takes you to the user's profile. I don't want the Guest user to be able to view that type of information. The forum is currently set up such that there is one publically visible forum (guest acct can view only) and there is also a restricted forum that only members/admins can view/modify/delete.

How can I limit the guest account so they can't see profiles?

Thanks!

In the admin console go to host settings>permissions. you can designate all, registered users, or forbidden for viewing profiles. choose registered or forbidden rather than "all."

Hope this helps......

No option by that name. I have canvased all the settings I can think of and can't find anything like that. Attached are the Host Settings->Permission Settings options. I am also using v 1.9.1.8 (automatically installed thru my GoDaddy account).

looks like these options were added post 1.91. I'm on 1.9.3 and see the options I described.

So, any chance of this working with the version I am using?
