A just setup a new forum. It is pretty basic.

Ex.

Category

- Topic 1

- Topic 2

- Topic 3

- Topic 4

- Topic 5

Question 1

--------------------------------

I have 2 users setup as Admins who need to be able to moderate all topics.

I just checked "Moderated". Is that all I need to do?

Question 2

--------------------------------

I only want registered users to be able to post and start topics.

Currently I can just go on without logging in and start new topics.

Does this have something to do with the Access mask setting?

I couldn't find any documentation on this.

Any help would be great. Thanks!

The Moderated check box is for if you want a post to be vetted before it appears i.e. the moderator checks the topic is ok then allows it to appear.

If you want the 2 users to have moderator permissions i.e. (edit/delete/lock) then you need to make sure when you edit the forum in the Admin control panel, in the access part of the bottom you give the group that they are a member of a moderator access mask.

This ties in with quest 2, which basically says to me that when you have editted the forum you have given Guests a member access mask, which means they can post. Simply edit an access mask in the control panel to understand what permissions an access mask, or create some of your own.

When I post FP:Mek in a topic, I'm leaving my footprint there so I can track it once I get into coding/supporting. (Yes I stole this off Ederon 🙂 )

Thanks for the explanation.

I didn't realize all the forums i had created needed to have the Guest Access Mask set to read only. They were all set to Admin!
