The purpose of this new column would allow you to create a "private" forum where each user (with this mask set) could ONLY see the threads that they themselves created prohibiting them from seeing all the other threads in the forum.

This would give the appearance of a "private forum" for a certain set of users, yet allow others to view everything.

One application for this would be a "complaint" forum where each user is able to create and respond to a private complaint that other members would not be able to see. Moderators (or users who did not have this access mask set) would be able to go in and address the various complaints.
