I have just installed YAF. What it seems to me is that using theme, one can hardly change the color, font etc. But not the layout.

I tried editing the ascx files in the pages folder. But could not see any improvement.

Can somebody help me understand how these works?

Some of the things that I wanted to do are:

1. Putting some text in the header (top of the page, by the side of the logo)

2. Probably having a column in the left side of the page.

3. Editing something in the footer where the credit line comes. I can add or edit the credit line, but not the rest.

Please help.

Hi, I'm very new at this but I see no one has answered your question and I have made some alternations to my forum. (http://www.seniorcareofbrevard.com/forum/Default.aspx?g=forum)

1. I placed my header logo on the top of the aspx page - just click on the spot and inserted the pic.

2. Inside the Pages folder, find forum.ascx. Here you can add columns, rows, etc. I moved the active discussions box to fit under the forum.

3. Can't help with the footer question, sorry.

Hey,

if the stuff you want around the forum does not have to specifically do with the forum, just put the forum control in a master page you create with all the stuff you want wrapped around it. www.thrashmag.com/forum you can see we did it with the header and footer.
