Hi, I'm wondering if YAF has any kind of API or Web Services that are exposed for use? I need to do a lot of data manipulation, but would much rather use built-in methods remotely without messing directly with YAF or the DB.

Thanks,

AL

Shall I assume that's a no? :-d

Is there anything like this in the works for future releases?

There is an API to the DB that is easily accessible. All YAF functions available to the forum are available to you as long as you reference. If you know what you're doing, it's easy to work with.

Currently, there are no web services.

I think the reason there aren't many responses is that YAF is open source -- I mean, just download the source and take a look. If you are truly evaluating YAF, take the time to do that step.

Thanks for the reply, Jaben.

I get the reference thing...but I'm a huge proponent of Web Services to separate disparate applications. I've coded myself into a corner a few too many times in past years because I had to tie directly into a system (that ultimately got changed dramatically...rendering my code useless). That's why I like Web Services...no issues with DLL versions or changes to code that affect my code. That's all...

Again, thanks for the reply!
