NOTE: Always run /install just to sync the DB when upgrading from v1.9.3 beta -- changes are minor but it needs to be run again.

SQL changes for SQL Server 2000 compatibility.

Added ability to pollify existing topics and edit existing polls for moderators.

ReplaceRules validation cache is now dumped when administrator changes smilies.

Added admin control of ReplaceRules cache timeout. Separated ReplaceRulesCreator to its own file.

Fixed major problems with YafContext not really being an instance PER PAGE.

Fixes free text search generation bug airsickmoth noticed.

Fixed search issue reported by "demonixed" where posts from deleted users were displayed in search results as of posts from guests.

Implemented multi-receiver PMs. User can send PMs to multiple users separated by ';'.

Added SmtpException handling in SendMail thread.

Watch email can't be escaped... pointed out by Mr Data.

Fixed DB part of "Most users ever on-line" problem. We need to change the way this information is cached in app yet.

Updated Italian (by continienzo) and German (by MrData) translation with files from the forums.

Added Hebrew language file (by eddr666)

Added user medals (former badges) implementation.

Adding REAL Modal controls to project. These are cleaner and much more modular/scalable.

ForumPage shows a modal dialog instead of a JS popup... Works with AJAX callbacks. Minor modifications to context for LoadMessage functions.

Script manager is now handled properly inside the Forum control -- only loaded if it doesn't exist.

Added UpdatePanels (AJAX) to all of these sections... Quite a few operations are now very clean.

ReplaceWords are now Board based also Added import system for replacement words.

New MessagePost classes for displaying formatted messages.

Updates for changes with BBCode modules/etc. Example module is included.

Added bbcode import/export.

Cleaned up deletemessage a bit -- made it a bit clearer and started using the MessagePost control.

Added recalculation of NumPosts to message_delete SQL as the numposts is incredibly out of sync.

Localization for "Deleted by User/Mod" text for a deleted message.

Added some validation to editforum.

Added 1 to page size for posts on the page which has "Sponser" text... need to improve for "deleted" messages.

Added pagination to admin eventlog and admin users.

"Debug" information is only shown to Administrators now.

More client scripts are now registered via ScriptManager.

Added GotoPageForm which is the popup "GotoPage" dialog for the pager (with animation!).

Greatly improved the admin user editor.

Made user editor handle Host Admin user editing properly.

Added "category images" with no real use at this point.

Fixed bug preventing profile data from being saved for newly registering users.

Fixed RSS Feeds were not filtering out "bad words".

Suggested changes made to user_aspnet sync system. Dependant on the ProviderKey instead of the UserName.

Added option to disable display of the ModeratorList.

Improved IP Ban validation code.

Changed ProviderKey to nvarchar(64).

Fixed issue: Cannot suspend the guest user any more.

Updated the YOUTUBE BBCode to support different country prefixes.

Added "loading dialog" to search page.

Added "existing user" choice to new installation.

A release of YAF that supports Memberships, Roles and Profiles. No longer ALPHA, but please test before deploying. BACKUP EVERYTHING before you would attempt an upgrade!

Lanuages

Languages need to be updated to the latest in english.xml. Help with this is appreciated.

Contributing to YAF

How can you support YAF, you ask? Just help a bit. Test the software and post bugs. Answer a few questions on this forum for other, less knowledgeable, YAF admins. If you really want to go crazy, write a little documentation in the wiki...

Notes

v1.9.3 will upgrade from v1.9.1.x and below fine. I don't suggest you do it until you feel the software it ready.

Sorry to say, DNN support was not a goal for this ALPHA release. That's not to say you cannot get it working with this release. If you do play around with it, please report back your findings.

Compiling

YAF v1.9.3 BETA doesn't requires Web Application Project to compile! In fact, most of the main source is dynamic compilation. But if you do want to compile the whole source, please download Visual Studio 2008 Express .
