I've set up 1.9.3 as a subfolder of an existing site and it's working so far. Since I'm using the existing site's membership and role providers I log into the existing site and YAF shows me as that same user.

Now I want to map my existing roles to roles within YAF, so the admin users in my existing site can be administrators in YAF. Is this possible? Nothing jumps out at me in the config files.

I'd be glad if you can share how you worked around role mapping.

I am trying to do a similar thing by using an existing site's membership and rolemanager. I'd be interested to know how you got this to work.

When I use my existing userbase and membership and rolemanager I get an error installing YAF to the existing database. However if I use the following it seems to work but many of the features dont work when logging in existing users. ie logged in users can not see the test forum and the admin section throws an error. Please help.

I do it.

In administration part of YAF you will find "Roles" page. In top list - roles, what not in YAF, in bottom - linked to YAF.

All you need is press "Link" button (i do not remember caption of button) and role will be in YAF.

Next step is to set acces masks and flags - in details of role on the same page.

It is done. 🙂
