- Open Solution File in VS 2005

- Open ForumPage.cs file and modified the footer texts you dont want to be shown, these are some of the lines:

(u can either remove them or comment them)

* footer.AppendFormat( "{2} :

", Forum.GetLink( Pages.rsstopic, "pg=forum" ), Data.ForumRoot, GetText( "DEFAULT", "MAIN_FORUM_RSS" ) );

Although I would appreciate if you kept the copyright message, you may remove it.

Yes, as long as you leave the "meaning" of it message intact (who the copyright holders are,.....).

* May I add my own copyright message?

Yes, provided that you do not merge your message with the official one in any way. Something like:

* May I remove the copyright from the source code?

Definitely not. That is against GPL.

I've tried changing the ForumPage.cs file and refreshing the web.config and the change does not appear in the website.

Does this work in v1.9.0?

Make sure you recompile the site after making changes to a source code file.

I've tried to change the footer and header but can't find any way to do it. I'm running version 1.9.0. with just bin. Most things I wanted to change could be done by changing various aspx files, but "alt.aspx" does nothing! It doesn't change anything, infact i've took it out from the folder and the forum still works!

So how do I change the header and footer, I hope I don't have to have the src version.. I had trouble opening that in visual studio, say's it's for an older version of vs and the conversion doesn't work.

I also want to change how the messages are displayed, when you're reading them, where do I do that? (not posts.ascx, but on each individual message)

I still want to give credit where credit is due, of course, but want to handle it differently.. i have another purpose for the footer.

Underneath the Forum control

<yaf:forum runat="server" id="forum" />[/code] in the default.aspx, copy and paste this:

so that it looks like this:
