Not long after joining the forum here, I got a PM that was very clearly spam. Are there any controls to prevent this?

No at the moment the spam protection system works only for posts. But it looks like our filter are now so good that the spammer have no chance to post any more messages.

I will add spam protection for PMs in the next release.
