I am using version 2.1.2 right now but this issue has followed me through multiple upgrades (at least the last two). The problem is that I am not able to replace the default Avatar for my profile. It doesn't work if I use a URL, browse the file from my local drive or if I FTP them directly to the site and try to choose them from the server.

It always shows the universal missing image file (a small 😵 where the image should be. Any idea of what could be wrong or what else I should try?

Just updated to the lasted stable version on this problem still exists. When I look at the properties of the X that marks where the avatar image should be I get something like the following.

I am not sure how to show the whole URL without the forum shortening it and I replaced my actual URL with www.mysite.com - otherwise the link is exactly as the browser renders it.

I suspect that is the problem because that is not a valid URL but I am unsure how to correct that. Any thoughts?
