What I would like to do is to build my gaming site around the YAF.net site foundation.

Things I want to accomplish is to leverage the authentication/authorization/context/database, etc right inline with my new gaming fan site. I poked around in the code and it was a bit too complicated for me.

Is there any detailed API/development documentation I can refer to?

I want the forums to appear right in line with my site. Which means I want to be able to poll the database and specify regions where I display forum functionality and even "top 10 forums" in a sidebar.
