Within the past week my site has turned up as a 503 error and my host (which I've had since March) says my .net application is using all 512MB of memory allowed and that's why I'm receiving the 503 errors and having to recycle the pool.

I'm kinda curious how much memory YAF uses? I'm using build 20f8b462500f.

Check how changes the value and it's not clear how your provider counts memory (database + application pool or simply your applications pool or a total for all pools.

I assume the more users on the site, the more memory is used, correct?

Right now ..

91 active users, 2 members, 88 guests, 1 hidden for last 15 minutes

I've readded the data, but it works in Full Trust only. I think you're running it in Full trust.

I just upgraded and it started off at 181 MB and about half hour later it's at 260 MB.

Last night I seen my memory usage was around 343 MB and when I woke up this morning my site was down because my host shut it off due to exceeding the 512 MB limit.

Why is YAF using so much memory when only a dozen or so guests and two registered users are online? It seems like the memory isn't being released?

I've tried clearing the Cache and Restart Application and nothing seems to lower the memory usage, except when my host shuts down the site for using more than 512 MB. Then it starts the climb all over. I have noticed that it dropped a few MB between a few random checks within a few minutes. So, memory is being released.

I'm hovering around 327 MB lately, but that just seems like a lot. I've been checking into a lot of ASP hosts and they seem to cap it at 256 MB.

Any way of reducing the memory usage? Or can someone explain why so much (if indeed that is a lot) memory is being used?

Hi Zero2cool,

Your site is running YAF 2.0.0.0 Beta 2. Can you show me where I can download this version of YAF? My current forum YAF 1.9.6.1 is running too slow. I want to try the new version.

Thanks.

Thoa

Thank you, Zero2Cool.

Have you resolved your memory issue yet?
