We selected Vietnamese as the language in our forum. However, notification emails and password retrieval emails sent out in another language. I am not sure what language it is because I cannot read it. What should I do to fix this issue? Thank you.

When logged in as the administrator, click Admin on the top navbar.

On the left column, click Settings then Board Settings.

Under the Culture, that should be set to Vietnamese.

Also under Settings, click Languages, and edit Vietnamese default, register, etc., so perhaps it's more accurate.

Lastly, try viewing the registration e-mail in another e-mail client. Some e-mail clients are strange and change the language. If you're using browser e-mail the e-mail might show up in the language you have your browser set to, but then you say you don't understand the language.

And remember, at present you set the default language and the users can register ONLY in that language and change their language preference after registration.

Finally, something that will work for sure .... figure out what language it's being sent in. Just open up Google Translator , copy the email and paste it in the left box, and let it detect the language itself. So my last (and most important) suggestion is to open up languages ----> English.xml or languages---> vietnamese.xml or whatever language google says the email is. Open up that .xml file. So if it's being sent in Hungarian, open up languages ----> hungarian.xml.

But for instance, English.xml, find this:

You can add a personalized message here to tell the user what you want said

And the other words that are in there, like, "You have requested to join the" .... just change it to Vietnamese. Change all the words you want changed to Vietnamese. Save that particular .xml file and upload it and replace the old .xml file. At least that's what I'd do.
