I am just looking at how Google sees / displays posts because google search stats are quite low.

I found this very useful and this displays the same output as Google in its search results from your page :

When I place a post URL into the test the result was unexpected:

Result I get is this :

What I really want though is the post title and description to appear in the Google description, not the forum name:

Can I modify YAF in any way to do this?

Make sense, currently its not possible without changing the code. I think the best way would be a template solution where an admin can select which elements should be included in the title.

But you have to wait for the next release, or if you can't wait i see if i can give you an updated version or beta release. Maybe we should release an 1.9.6.2 BETA Version.

Ps: There is a typo in your forum name "Excel Database Forurm"

I think it would be good for SEO as then a post can look just like a normal page in Google, and might help to pick up traffic.

It seems that page titles carry the most weight, then how many back links there are to that page, although I am no expert.

If it were possible to specify keywords for a post that google would slurp up .. that would be ideal.

I think that would work with the topic tags feature request, but I think that is on the v2.0 roadmap -- would be optimum because the tags in the topic would work for keywords in SEO, etc...

any news on if/when this might be available ?
