Hi,

Since I have bought some domain certificates, I would of course want to use them for the forum login.

However, the default https port 443 is used for the server owner's business stuff, so I have to use an alternate port for my site.

It would be nice if an alternate https port could be a configurable option in the forum software.

I'm sure I am not alone regarding this, especially hosted forums using your "own" domain name should have the same issues.

Remember that SSL can't run on a shared IP; the certificate needs to be verified even before the server knows which site's certificate to use. Otherwise, it's a IIS setting for each web node you can select a port.

Yes, I know that... So the issue is - how do I redirect the YAF SSL to the port my site uses?

SSL can run on any port, but the URL requesting the https/SSL has to be directed to a specific port in a multisite environment since each site needs to use their own port on a single IP address.

I have IIS set up for my site to use a specific port (not 443) and it works ok as long as you add the port number to the URL.

The issue is that it would be nice to be able to configure that port in YAF for the login so the login procedure is running with SSL also with other ports than 443. .
