This might be the million dollar question, asked a million times befor. I did a search but couldt find any answer.

I allready have an empty DB hosted on my ISP“s MSQL server, but I cant figure out how to connect to it. I have used other

asp forums in the past and that have been easyly configurated. But the db.config file I cant figure out.

Second question. Will the Yet Forum create/generate the needed tables?

Best regards

If you simple Run the Application the first time the Install Wizard Will Pop Up.

yourforumdomain.com/yaf/install/default.aspx

There you can Config your DB Connection. This Installer will also take care of the tables, procedures, etc. creating.

Hmmm I dont get it....

I have talked to my ISP host and dubbel checked that the folder the forums is in, is set to run .NET 4.0 applications and the ISP meets the requirements.

But still its not working for me :(

1. I get error when Im trying to access the forum

----

Error

Startup Error: YAF.NET is not setup properly. Please add the to the section of your web.config file.

----

2. Trying to manually go int to the Install folder and run the default.aspx end with following error

-----

Server Error in '/forum' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

I really would love to get this working, cause this forum software looks great!!
