Hi,

Does anyone have any advice for the best way to upgrade from 1.9.4 RC1 to 1.9.5.5?

What's involved in migrating the database?

Any file structure changes that might trip me up?

Is there an automated process? If so, how do I kick this off?

Any gotchas to be aware of?

I've had a quick play with a local copy of the live site but haven't had much joy...

1) the admin "Upgrade > Version Check" results in an error:

System.Net.WebException: The request failed with the error message:

--

Object Moved

This document may be found here

...

2) The admin "Upgrade > Install" option only seemed to try to update the database with full-text search. Even though it said the process was complete the version number didn't change.

The live site I'm hoping to upgrade in case it's useful to know - http://forums.paydirt.co.nz/

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give,

Gavin

The Best advice is to read the Readme.html that comes with YAF, it includes all steps to upgrade to the latest version. If you still have questions please ask.

Thats Fixed in 1.9.5.5

the admin "Upgrade > Install" option only seemed to try to update the database with full-text search. Even though it said the process was complete the version number didn't change.

The Upgrade Installer only reruns the Install sql Files.

Cheers for that. I'd downloaded the source version rather than the bin version so didn't realise there was a readme.htm file.

Attempting to upgrade now 😉

Removed this post as I'd made a silly mistake. Cheers, Gavin
